A full week of Chanukah had us really busy with lots of festivities.
We lit the candles and practiced the brachot. We sang lots of songs, danced, played dreidel, had candle hunts, heard stories and loved each minute of it. We all designed a Menorah using Q-tips which looks great on the wall opposite our room. Come check it out!
This week something new and exciting was introduced: Hebrew letters!! We learned that every language has a way it is written. It has letters or other ways they write. Hebrew has a very special letter system. They are called Aleph-Bet and they were designed by Hashem. Each letter is special and we will introduce some of them in Ganon. We all looked inside a play Torah and saw that all the letters inside were in Hebrew. We sang a repeating song that the Ganon children will know by heart after singing it for a few weeks.
The children are anticipating this new and fun adventure.
Torah is sweet and the Hebrew letters should always be associated with sweetness. Our first letter activity had the children fill in the first letter with honey, some of the children enjoyed eating their sweet Aleph!
Have a great Shabbat,
Morah Fraidel Schusterman
