The Hanukkah Fun Continues

 

Morah Schusterman taught the class about lighting the Menorah during Hanukkah. 

We enjoyed many Hanukkah stories. 

The class created and enjoyed playing our very own Hanukkah game.  The children were the game pieces.  Each child would roll the dice.  Then they would walk that many steps with their candle.  The children took turns rolling, counting and moving to reach the Menorah.  Then they would add their candle to the Menorah.  They had to work together to get all the candles to the Menorah. 

 

The children continued to create their own Menorahs during Centers Time. 

These girls were so proud of theirs that they asked me to take their picture.

 

 

This activity was called the 'Dreidel Tallying Game'.  The children would spin the dreidel and then record what letter it landed with a tally mark.  We are just beginning to discuss using tally marks during Math.  This was a fun introduction.

 

 

The children created symbols of Hanukkah with the play dough. 

Children made dreidels, candles, menorahs and lots of latkes.

 

 

The class is very impressed by this Menorah made by one of our Ganon families!  Awesome job!
