Neighborhood Walk to Storytime

We took one of our favorite neighborhood walks to the BJE Maurer Jewish Community Library for story time.  We listened to three stories about Noah's Ark.  We compared the stories and illustrations. We also did some movement activities.  We look forward to going again next month.

Tuesday Art

Today in Art, the children began an art project based on the book, Swimmy.  The children created the under the sea background.  I think they are beautiful and wanted to share the first step in the project.

The children began by using oil pastels to draw seaweed.  Then, water was sprayed on the paper to dampen it.  Next, the children painted with water colors.  Also, liquid water colors was dropped on the paper.  The paper was squirted again with water.  Finally, the children sprinkled salt on the paper. The ocean backgrounds are real masterpieces.  Next week in Art, the children will continue the project.

FISH

Our class has some new pets!  Six beautiful fish, that were won at Winterfest, were donated to our classroom!  The Ganon children were thrilled to meet Nicky, Baba, Minnow, Chicken Nugget, Nugget Two, and Toodles were they arrived this morning.
