Portfolios

Each child in Ganon has a portfolio that we collect their work samples and photographs. Each child's portfolio has a collection of writing samples, dictated stories, self portraits, math activities, science experiment documentation and much more.  The portfolios are always available for the children and parents to view. This morning several children spent Centers Time looking through their portfolios.
Here are a some of the comments that I overheard...
"Look I used to scribble scrabble, now I write good."
"I remember that story, it was so funny."
"I know all my letters now!"
"Look how funny I used to draw me.  I do good now."
"I remember when Y_______ and I made that with the blocks."
"What?!?  I used to write my name like that?"
"I want to do this again!  I like sticker counting."
"Hey L__, come see this!  I have a picture of us together!"

Thank you Mrs. Shere!

It was such a pleasure to have Mrs. Shere teaching Judaics the past 2 months.    She planned many fun activities and the children really enjoyed their time with her!  Today was her last day but we know she will be back to visit!
We made Mrs. Shere cards to thank her!

Artist Joanie Rothenberg Mosaic

The Ganon children had the wonderful experience of meeting with Artist Joanie Rothenberg. She explained to the children what public art is and took them to the Cultural Arts Center to see some of her paintings. Each child got to tell what they liked about the painting. Then the children were able to add a tile to the mosaic. The beautiful tiling will be one of three panels that will be hung in the Galilee a Medical Center.

Matza Factory

Today our class walked to the JCC to attend the Matza Factory.  Rabbi Schusterman was the Matza Man.  He taught us many things about matza and helped us to prepare our own matza.  We sang songs and had a really nice time.  Each child received a matza man hat and their matza to take home.  The items were sent home today in the backpacks.
