It takes a great deal of concentration and fine motor control to paint a tiny acorn.

Mrs. Ashley saw the children in animal masks and brought her guitar to
play the song In the Jungle while the children moved like animals.

 Play Dough and Fall Loose Parts

Manipulating play dough helps to develop the same muscles used for writing.
Play dough is a great way to create 3-dimensional art.

A Very Ganon Birthday

A Ganon boy jumped out of his car this morning and he excitedly ran into the school.  Upon entering the building he announced that today is his birthday and today he is five years old.  

The festivities began immediately with happy birthday greetings from his classmates and teachers.

He painted and decorated his birthday letter.

Each Ganon child has the first letter of their name on the classroom wall.
The child gets to take decorate their letter on their birthday and then it is hung back on the wall,

Friends made the birthday boy a 

cake in the mud kitchen.

The children asked for candles to make the cake extra special.

He created an entire birthday meal of soup and cupcakes for his friend.

 The children decorate pictures 

and make them into a birthday book.

The birthday boy gets to sit in the large teacher chair
 as his friends tell him birthday greetings.

 We made him a play dough birthday cake.

Chorus of happy birthday in English and Hebrew could be heard throughout the day.  Children celebrated the birthday boy by inviting him to play or letting him go in front of them in line.  

Today was a perfect example of the simplicity and meaningfulness of a birthday in Ganon.  

We hope our Ganon friend had a very happy birthday!  Five is an awesome age!
