Birthday Letters

Each Ganon child on their birthday gets to paint and decorate the first letter of their name.  The letters have been hanging on the wall all year but are plain white until the birthday child decorates it.  The painting of each new letter is a momentous event and the whole class enjoys it.  The birthday child chooses the materials that they want to use.  Several children always come and watch the birthday child paint their letter. It is almost like a little ceremony and the birthday child always has a smile on their face as they work. The class love to look at the letters and count to see how many children in the class have already turned five.  The class enjoy clapping as I add the newly decorated letter to the wall.  We recently celebrated the birthdays of two children that have birthdays in the summer.  Now our birthday letter wall is complete.  Doesn't it look fabulous?

Baby Birds in the Courtyard

The children discovered a nest while gardening in the courtyard.  The children continued to watch each day and discovered a mother bird with eggs in the nest.  A few days later the children discovered baby birds in the nest.  We were even able to observe the mother bird feeding the baby birds some worms.  We continued to check on the babies every day and watched them grow.  One day we went out to check and only two of the four birds were in the nest.  We shared the news with the Kindergarten children.  The Kindergarten children went to the courtyard to check it out and discovered two of the baby birds trying to learn to fly.  They were making tiny little hops. The next day all of the birds were out of the nest and we found only one bird still trying to fly. It has been such am amazing experience to watch these baby birds.

Please check out Miss Gribbins blog for an awesome video of the mommy bird feeding the baby birds.

End of the Year Fun

Bubbles and Balls Day

We had so much fun outside playing with bubbles and balls.
I forgot to take a break from the fun and take some pictures.

Stripes Day

Having a stripes day was the Ganon girls' idea.
It was so much fun and everyone in the school noticed all of the stripes.

First Grade Visitors

Some First Graders chose our class to come and read their rebus story.
The Ganon children were very good listeners.

Morah Ruti's Last Visit

The Kindergarten and Ganon children enjoyed their last music class
of the school year with Morah Ruti.

Baby Zelda's Last Visit

It has been such a great experience for the children to watch Baby Zelda grow and change throughout the year.

When Zelda came for her visit, she had to be held and was so tiny. Now she is so much bigger and on the move crawling around the classroom. We learned that she loves raspberries and beans.

The Ganon children commented on how Zelda has changed.
-Lots of curls
-More hair
-Grew bigger
-Bigger clothes
-Bigger hands
-More teeth
-Can sit up
-Can crawl
-Eats food

The class gave Zelda and her mom a scrapbook that they created from her visits and an art piece to go in Zelda's room.

Such Adorable Babies

It was really fun to look at the children's baby pictures. We made it a guessing game to try and figure out which picture belonged to which Ganon student.

Songs from our Program

Our class created a video of songs from our program to share with all of the families that were unable to attend the program.  Hope you enjoy our wonderful singers!

Shavuot/End of the Year Program

Thank you to all the families that were able to end our celebration.  It was a wonderful way to celebrate a great year in HHAI Early Childhood.
