Castle Number Game

Today during our small group Math time we played a fun game. We had to get the princess to the castle. She was lost. We had to create a path. The children took turns saying a number and then each child would write the numeral on their dry erase board. Then the child would add that number of stones to the path. It was a great way to practice writing numbers and counting. The children have plans to play it during Centers Time and make a path across the whole classroom.

We finished with a smile for a fun game and some good math practice!

Castles, Castles and more Castles

The Ganon children have been constructing castles from all types of materials. They have made sand and sugar cube castles. Castles have been made in shoe boxes. They have even made castles out of Legos and math manipulatives.  There have been awesome block castles created (unfortunately they keep falling before a photo can be snapped).

Purim Story for Katon

A small group of Ganon children were acting out the Purim story with Mrs. Shere.  The Katon kids stopped by and enjoyed watching the children act out the story.   King Ahashverous was looking for a new queen.  He held a contest for all the ladies of the land, and then chose Esther to be his new queen.
