Borei Pri Ha'adma

Each week the EC focuses on a different bracha (blessing) that is said before taking the first bite of food. This week the focus is on the Bracha "Borei Pri Ha'adamah" which is said on all foods that grow from the ground.

 Today we joined the Kindergarten class in making a fresh vegetable salad using: lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and all of the colored peppers! It was fun, beautiful looking and yummy!

Baby Zelda's 3rd Visit

Baby Zelda returned for her 3rd visit.  Zelda just turned 6 months old and so the children sang 'Happy 1/2 Birthday' to her.  The children observed how much she has grown and noted a lot more hair.  The children were given a chance to ask Baby Zelda's mom questions about how she has changed in the past 6 weeks since her last visit.  She is now rolling over and eating some fruits, vegetables and baby cereal.  They learned that she has a favorite blanket that she likes to rub against her face.  Then children did their 3rd observational drawing of her.  She was an adorable model in her dinosaur sweater.

Library Time

The children really enjoy visiting Mrs. Sims in the Library.  It is always exciting to find out what book is waiting in the Treasure Chest for them.  Mrs. Sims is a great storyteller and has a fun activity planned each visit.  Children enjoy choosing a book to check out and bring to our classroom.

100's Museum

Our class created a 100's Museum to display projects created on the 100th Day of School. Children worked throughout the day finishing projects, organizing and planning the museum.  Children wrote signs for the museum and the displays.  We placed a sign for free tours and several teachers stopped in throughout the afternoon for a tour.  Many families came at dismissal time for a  free tour of the museum.  The children were the tour guides and were proud to show off our museum. 

 

 

 

 

A special thank you to all that visited the 100's Museum!  The children were proud to show off their work and enjoyed the whole process.  Many children are already asking when we can have another museum.  Please stay tuned because another museum may be opening soon in our Ganon classroom!
