Writing Letters to our Families

Each Ganon child chose someone in their family to write a letter.  The children dictated what they wanted their letter to say.  The children then copied the writing to create a letter.  Each letter took an enormous amount of concentration.  The children worked hard and were proud of their final product.  The class will mail their letters on our neighborhood walk next week.

Elephant and Piggie "We Are in a Play" at IRT

The class had such a nice time on our field trip to IRT.  The bus ride alone was pretty exciting.  It was many children's first time on a bus.  We had meaningful conversations discussing what we viewed outside the bus windows.  Arriving at Indiana Repertory Theater was thrilling!  The children cheered when they saw the lighted marque.  We were greeted by the Guest Educator/Artist that visited our school on Monday.  The Elephant and Piggie play was even better than we had imagined.  The actors sang and danced.  The play was a combination of six Elephant and Piggie books.  We have read all of the books several times prior to attending he show.  The show was a little over an hour and the Ganon children were engaged and watching the entire time.  The class exhibited excellent behavior for the entire trip.  Unfortunately, I was unable to take many photos.  Please have your Ganon child share their favorite parts of the show and field trip.
