Happy Passover!

I hope you each have a wonderful time with your families over the break.  I would love to hear about about your family's special visitors, travels, or fun.  Please send me emails and photos. I would love to a blog post about Ganon's adventures over the break. 

Last Names

We introduced reading and writing the children's last names on Friday.  The children are really motivated to learn to write their last name.  Names were on the table today during Free Play and the majority of the class chose to spend time writing their last names.  The children are also working hard at reading each other's last names.  One student was matching first names with last names.  Another child was counting how many last names begin with each letter.  

The children asked if they could write their names more than one time.
We told them that they could keep writing for five minutes until lunch.
We thought maybe they would have time to write their names two or three times.
Many of the children filled their papers on the front and the back.

Band Performance

The Ganon children enjoyed a concert performed by a middle school band from a Jewish Day School in Chicago.  The children sat quietly and watched intently for the 40 minute show.
