Bubble Fun

We decided to spend our morning free playtime outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Blowing bubbles was the favorite activity.
Several children spent the entire 50 minutes
blowing and chasing bubbles.

Bubble Fun = Math and Science Fun
The children counted bubbles and compared bubble sizes.
The children did some experimenting to see what is the best technique to get lots of bubbles.
They compared blowing  hard vs. soft and fast vs. slow.
They also tried to figure out how to make a bubble inside a bubble.

The children bubble painted during small group time.
Liquid water colors was added to bubble solution for the paint.

They created bubble wands by taping together straws.

We ended our day back outside
for some water and bubble play.
There was lots of measuring.
The children were each given two drops of dishwashing liquid.
They tried different strategies to figure out what is the best way to make a lot of bubbles.
The consensus was that lots of stirring and pouring makes the most bubbles.

There were experiments with floating and sinking the objects.

The children decided to combine containers of water to have  a very full container.
We are hoping for many more sunny days for outside play and learning.

Two Chicks Hatched

The Ganon children returned to Mrs. Bick's science room to view the newly hatched chicks.
We hope to visit again soon, so we can observe their growth.
