Flashlight Day

I think the whole school knew it was flashlight day because of the children's excitement.  A teacher commented that she had never seen anyone so excited about a flashlight. (Clearly, she doesn't spend enough time with 5 year olds.)  The children enjoyed every minute of flashlight day.  We ate snack and lunch by flashlight.  We played tag and danced with flashlights.  We made finger puppets and told stories by flashlight.  We compared the sizes and shapes of the light.  The highlight of the day was going to the pitch dark auditorium with our flashlights.
