Today, the Oak class had the opportunity to hold a real lulav and etrog. They also created observational drawings of the lulav and etrog.
It is a mitzvah to shake the lulav/etrog bundle on Sukkot.
It containts four parts: lulav (palm branch), hadasim ( 3 Myrtle branches), aravot ( 2 Willow branches), and etrog (citron).
We shake the bundle in all 6 directions - forward, right, back, left, up, and down to show that Hashem is everywhere!
