GANON ROCKS!

This weeks theme of rocks has really ROCKED!  The children used rocks throughout the day during language, math, science and art activities.

The children conducted a Science Experiment to see what would happen when we added rocks to a container full of water.  The children learned about making PREDICTIONS.  They recorded their prediction and then they tested their theory to see if their prediction came true.  Some predictions were correct, such as the rock would sink and the rocks would make the water spill over the top.  Some predictions were incorrect, such as the water would change colors.  The Ganon students were good scientists.
Each morning the children enjoyed stacking and counting rocks.  One child said "It is hard work.  I have to really pay attention and not work so fast."  Another child said "Tomorrow I am going to try to do 8 rocks."

The children described and drew rocks.  They discovered that their are many different rocks and they look very different from each other.

Rocks and trucks in the Sensory Table was a hit and allowed for many discoveries about rocks.

Children sorted the rocks by many characteristics.
