The Early Childhood classes planted a garden in the Spring. One garden box was filled with lettuce, kale, snap peas, and cucumbers. The vegetables grew throughout the summer. Many vegetables grew but the most successful was our crop of cucumbers. We had an abundance of cucumber through much of July and August. Many days over a dozen cucumbers were picked. School staff and visitors enjoyed the delicious cucumbers.
The Ganon children spent the first week of school picking cucumbers. Each child in the class got to take home cucumbers to share with their families.

Our summer garden was a great success but it's harvest was coming to an end.
It was now time to prepare for our fall garden.
The children helped to remove all of the plants and weeds from the garden box. The productive destruction was pretty exciting to the children! The children compared the plants they pulled. They were very interested in the roots and began measuring to see which root was the longest. A few children also found some worms while working.
