Matzah Factory

Today was a special day!  There are a few days each year that a teacher can tell the children will remember for a long time.  Today was one of those days, memories were made.  It is often the small things that are very exciting to four and five year olds.  The morning started out with so much joy as the children brought their car seats into the classroom.  Each child was thrilled to show off their car seat and see their friends' car seats.  The children even lined the car seats up, sat in them and then pretended they were driving.  I think they could have played in their car seats all day, but we were off to a field trip.  The children were well behaved as we loaded the van and cars.  It was funny to just be driving down the street.  The driving in vehicles made it an even more exciting experience.  Then we arrived at the JCC and Rabbi Schusterman taught us about matzah.  Each child was able to make their own matzah.  They kneaded, rolled and made holes in the matzah. We also sang and listened to stories by Rabbi Schusterman while he cooked the matzah in the very hot oven.  Then back in the van we went for a quick ride back to school.  It was a fun morning full of memories.

EC Spring Family Event

Thank you to all the families who joined us yesterday for our Early Childhood Family Event.  The chilly weather didn't stop our fun.  Everyone painted colorful rocks that will be added to the Outdoor classroom.  The special snack of dirt cups was a delicious treat!
