Snow Fun during Free Play

Snow Flakes with Loose Parts

Snow and Food Coloring Exploration

 Painting Snow Pictures

Ice

Yesterday, we placed milk cartons of water outside our classroom to freeze.  The children were anxious to see if the water froze over night.  We added some ice cube trays of water to freeze this morning. We brought everything inside after lunch and most everything had froze.

The children built with ice.
We looked at pictures of igloos and ice castles.

After the children finished exploring and building with the ice, they filled cups with water and food coloring.  The cups were then placed outside to freeze for more ice fun tomorrow.

Playing in the Snow (Inside)

It was too cold to go outside and play, so we brought the snow inside.

"A snowball!"

"The cup makes a good shape."

"Look! I made a snowman!'

"A snow castle"

We are making large ice cubes
for an activity tomorrow.

We will leave them outside all night to freeze.
Our sensory bin has pretend snow and snowman.
Our hands stay much warmer
when we play with it.
