1,000 Books by Kindergarten

The Ganon class recently began participating in the 1,000 Books by Kindergarten program through the Indianapolis Public Library.  We are tracking the books that we read and working hard to meet our first goal of 100 books.  Today, the class made it half way to our goal by reading 50 books.
Children are invited to bring in favorite books from home for us to read during the school day.  Please label any books that you send in with your child.  We will read the books to the class and then send the books back home.

Ganon Pizza Shop

The Ganon class created a Pizza Shop in the Dramatic Play Center.  The children created pizzas with paper, scissors, and glue.  The children practiced writing letters and letter recognition while making the signs and menus.  While playing in the Pizza Shop, the children counted money and sorted toppings.  The children also took orders and read the menus.

Winter Break Memories

The Ganon children and teachers were happy to be back together after our Winter Break.  We spent the morning discussing what everyone did over the break.  It sounds like the Ganon families had many wonderful adventures.  The children drew pictures and gave dictations about their favorite activity from the break.
