Activities for The Mitten

 This morning, the children participated in activities based on the book, The Mitten.  They wrote animal words and drew animal pictures.  They read nonfiction books about the different animals in the book.  The children retold the story using stuffed animals, flannel board pieces, and puppets.  We are continuing to study the story and characters in preparation to create our movie based on the The Mitten.

Animals in The Mitten

 Our class is planning to create a movie based on the book The Mitten by Jan Bret.  First, we are learning about the animals in the story.  Today, we began reading books, looking at photos, and watching videos about the animals.  We also drew pictures of the animals.  We will continue to study the animals all week and into next week.
