Small Groups - Mrs. Mahern

 Monday's small group focused on our new study of bugs.  We began by identifying the letters in the names of the bugs.  We then counted how many letters are in the different bug names.  Next, we read the information cards about several of the bugs.  The children began to thinking of questions that they have about bugs.  Finally, the children drew pictures of the bugs and wrote bug words.

During Tuesday's small group, the children wrote numbers and played number BINGO.

We returned our focus to our bug study on Wednesday.  The children listened to informational texts about bugs.  We created an insect diagram and began a list of different types of bugs.

The group worked in their handwriting book on Thursday.  This week's letter is letter M.

We ended the week with some art time.  The children created paintings using water colors.

Small Groups- Mrs. Georgia and Mrs. Levin

 On Monday we practiced writing the numbers 1-10, as we well talking about "Greater Gator." The children choose two different numbers and point the "gator" to the greater number.

We continued to work on the mathematic concept of greater than was introduced on Tuesday.  We also had time for some number puzzles.

Then, it was WORD WEDNESDAY.  We wrote bug words.

The group worked together to complete shape puzzles on Thursday.  They discovered that they had to pay attention to the different lengths in order to complete the puzzle.
