Last Middle School Buddies

Today was our final Middle School Buddies gathering of the school year. The Oak children presented the middle schoolers with cards and drawings they had created just for them. Afterwards, the middle school and Oak students played together using some of the Oak children’s favorite classroom materials. They created side by side and enjoyed meaningful conversations. Over their time together, the Oak and middle school students have developed special friendships.

Patterns in Numbers

The Oak children have been participating in math activities using number lines, grid patterns, and hundreds charts. Working with these materials helps children begin to identify patterns in columns and rows, such as noticing that numbers in a column often end with the same digit. This supports their developing understanding of number order and the relationships between numbers.
