Math with Pete the Cat

A favorite book in the Ganon class is Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons.  We reread the book today during a large group math activity.  The children counted buttons and removed buttons.  The activity is an introduction to subtraction.  Children also discussed the colors and shapes of the buttons.  We culminated the activity by sorting the buttons by color.
