Rabbi Schusterman taught the children all about shofars during a special workshop this morning. The children were able to view different shofars. He explained which animals are kosher and their horns can be used for shofars. He created a shofar right in front of us. We watched him saw and drill a ram's horn to make the shofar. He also discussed the different sounds of the shofar and then blew it for us. Rabbi Schusterman gave our class our own shofar to keep in our classroom.
We also enjoyed a special Rosh Hashanah snack, pomegranate juice and gummy fish, before quiet time.
