Pre-K kids get excited about a lot of things. But, I think the first SNOW is one of their all time favorite things! The enthusiasm was high today in the classroom as the snow began. The children begged to go outside early before our regular outside time. We dressed up as warm as possible and headed outside. There were lots of happy screams as the children ran outside to the tiny snow fall.
The children ran, jumped, played, and formed the smallest snowballs that I have ever seen. The entire class stayed outside for a short time and then children were given the option to go inside and play in the warm classroom. About a third of the class went inside at first and then others continued to join them. Five children stayed outside the entire time and were disappointed when they were told their outside time with over.
The children are hoping for many more snow days and are making plans to build a snowman. We choose to read books about snow during story time today.❄⛄❄

The final 5, that outlasted the rest outside!
