Keys, Keys, So Many Kinds of Keys

Keys have become a favorite material for the Oak children since school began. During every free play time, the children incorporate keys into their activities. They use keys while building in the blocks, and they add them to their pretend scenarios in the dramatic play center. At the math center, children sort and count keys. In the art center, they draw and trace them.
The children's ongoing interest in keys inspired today's story dictations. Each child chose a key from the basket to tell a story about, then illustrated the tale.
