Number and Letter Search

Today my friends were given numbers and were asked to put them in order 1-10, they did a great job counting out loud and pointing. My friends were also asked to search for their letters that make up their name and spell out their names with those letters.

Fine Motor Nail Salon and Cutting

We started our small groups off with a small activity, nail salon. The children were asked to use a q-tip and paint to paint only the nails on the hands. After we were done with the activity we started ti practice cutting!

Shapes!!

Today my friends were given a piece of paper that had the name of six different shapes on it, triangle, square, heart, rectangle, circle and diamond. They were also given the six different shape cut outs and a glue stick. The instructions were to add glue to the shapes and place them in the correct spots next to their names. This was great for shape recognition and allows them to focus on their fine motor skills by glueing loose parts such as the shapes to their paper.

After we were done glueing our shapes it was then up to the children to draw those same shapes on a big piece of paper.

Small Groups Ms Alisa

Today we took a focus on name recognition and how many letters are in our name. The children worked independently to circle their names on  a paper with everyone's name on it. The children also came with Ms. Alisa one on one and counted the amount of letters  in their name and used their fingers to show that number.
