Color, Light, Shadows, and Curiousity

Something bright is happening in our classroom! ✨

This week we introduced our new Light Area, a place where children investigate light in its many forms through research and experimentation, sparking wonder and curiosity.

Ms. Maria and I spent the last month watching the children’s play and listening to their questions. We noticed many of them are drawn to color, building, and sensory experiences, so we wove all three into the space. (Ms. Maria’s talent for creating engaging light play is on full display here! 💛)

Because the Light Area is designed for small groups, we also wanted inviting activities elsewhere in the room. That led us to add a color study alongside our light study. The two topics pair beautifully, giving children chances to explore color mixing and color changes, and to see how colored light looks on different objects.

We can’t wait to see where the children’s interests take our light and color study! 🌈

The album will include more photos from our study, and we will continue to update it.
