This morning, the Oak class had their first visit from Gaya, the Shlicha. A shlicha is often a young Israeli adult or professional sent abroad to teach about Israeli culture, connect the local community to Israel, and lead educational programs.
Gaya brought a large map of Israel for the children to explore and engage with. She introduced them to the Hebrew words "yam" (sea) and "yabasha" (land). Afterwards, they played a game: when Gaya called out one of the words, the children would stand on the corresponding area of the map.
