The discovery of ice on the playground led to a great interest in ice. Our class read a Scholastic news magazine about building with ice. This led to many more questions about building with ice.
We learned about ice statues, igloos, ice castles, and even ice slides.
The children drew pictures of what they would like to create our of ice.
The class created their ice using materials in the classroom (milk cartons, cups, food coloring, ice cube trays). Then the children built with the ice.
