The class picked pumpkins from the garden last week. The class delivered pumpkins to the other early childhood classes. We then placed a pumpkin in our Science Center. The children enjoy touching and observing it during centers time. Today the Kindergarten class was doing an activity with pumpkin seeds. They gave us a pumpkin that was cut in half for us to observe.
S.N. - "The pumpkin feels like gooey and smells like a pumpkin."
D.F. - "The pumpkin is orange."
D.K. - "When you cut it out into pieces, it is super yummy to eat the seeds."
A.S. - "The pumpkin is soft and gooey. It feels like watermelon."
E.P. - "It smells yucky,"
P.F. - "It is sticky and gooey."
B.R. - "Orange. It looks like a banana."
N.M. - "It feels sticky. It is a circle."
H.Z. - "You have to cut the pumpkin to eat it. It grows and has seeds in it. If it gets yucky, you have to put it in the trash."
O.S. - "It is squishy inside. The sides are yellow. The outside is orange. It starts yellow and turns to orange."
P.S. - "It's a big, big pumpkin."
