The Oak children are continuing to sew each week with Mrs. Georgia. She recently commented on how the children have all really improved in their sewing. Several of the children are able to sew independently now. This week, Mrs. Georgia introduced tracing and cutting out patterns and using a kids sewing machine. The children are beginning to work on a Chanukah project. Even though Chanukah is still a little more than six weeks away, we have begun our projects to allow each child one on one time with Mrs. Georgia. This will allow each child time to work without being rushed. The concepts of revisiting learning and allowing time are both important characteristic of the Reggio Emilia approach. Through revisiting learning experiences and providing children ample time for learning, children are able to have deeper, richer experiences.
Please enjoy photos on our google photo sewing album of the children sewing over the past few months.
