Simchat Torah will occur during our break from school. The children are brining home a pretend torah scroll. The children helped to sew the cover. Here is a little information about Simchat Torah.
Simchat Torah - Lit. “Rejoicing in the Torah”
1. We finish reading the Torah. In order to complete reading the entire Torah each year, a different “Parsha,” portion is read in the synagogue/shul each Shabbat.
2. We’re so happy to have the Torah that as soon as we’re done reading it, we start all over from the beginning.
3. We dance and sing with the Torah scrolls in shul.
