Plate Sail
Today the Oak children learned a new name-recognition game called Plate Sail.
Materials: A set of plates, one per child, each labeled with a child's name.
How to play: The teacher tosses the plates into the middle of the group. As each plate lands, children scan for their own name and race to grab their plate as quickly as they can.
Skill focus: Name recognition, visual discrimination, and quick decision-making — with a bit of gross motor fun built in.
