During outdoor classroom day, some ducks got stuck in the water drain. What does this mean for the Oak class? We went on a mission of how to get them out!
Ideas ranged from turning the ducks into magnets and using a gain magnet, putting a bunch of butterflies together and having them lift the drain cover, and having Mr. Simon help us!
This is what we came up with:
We cut a plastic cup and used a hole punch to get holes on the sides. Children helped the teachers pick out different types of yarn to decide what we thought would work best. We were able to get 6 of the 8 ducks out!
The children came up with several plans on how to save the last two ducks. Today, when we went to rescue the last two ducks and discovered that Mr. Simon has covered the grate. Sadly, the last two will have to remain down the drain.
