Small Group Week 3 - Mrs. Mahern

Tuesday - Letter L

The children learned their official first letter in the handwriting book, the letter L.  We discussed the sound 'L' makes and items that begin with L.  The children practiced writing the uppercase letter L.  L is created by making a big line down and a little line across.

 

Wednesday - Sorting and Counting

The children used the sorting circles to sort the manipulatives by color.  The children then predicted which color had the most items.  Next, the children put the items in a line and we counted them.  After counting, we discovered that we had the most of yellow.

Thursday - Small Group Time was spent 

with our Middle School buddies

Friday - Symbols of Rosh Hashana Book

The children began creating a symbols of Rosh Hashana book.  They drew an apple and a shofar, then labeled their drawing.
